Ok, fine, that second part isn’t true…but Hill is reading Feeding the Monster because he wants to learn about the business side of sports. Hill hasn’t requested a personalized, signed bookplate…but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t! It makes a great holiday present for your loved ones and in-laws.

Here are two key things to know about being successful in the business of professional sports.
1. Make sure your $93 million salary is guaranteed, even if you can’t work.
2. Actually, there is no second thing. As long as you remember the first one, you’re OK.
I guess we shouldn’t begrudge him the Magic’s bad business decisions. And he did almost die of a staph infection after one of those ankle operations.

Seth,
Please tell me you don’t Google search “Feeding the Monster” every morning! (kidding)

As a former Blue Devil I am not the most objective source, but I would argue that if Grant Hill had not gotten hurt, he would be Hall of Fame bound. Look at his numbers at Detroit when he was healthy; a ridiculous number of triple-doubles (even when he had to play with Stackhouse). And he is once again a key cog on the Orlando team.

As a wise man once said to me, “Yeah, and if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle.”
