ESPN figures out how to fix the Sox’s problems

September 15th, 2006 → 6:14 pm @ // No Comments

The headline to Keith Law’s column on the woes of the Red Sox: “Prescription starts with more pitching.” (The full column’s only available to ESPN Insiders, but you don’t need to read it to get the point.)

Accompanying the piece, right next to a bit about how the Sox should play Wily Mo Peña as much as possible, is the following graphic:

Wily Mo Peña
Starting pitcher (Emphasis mine)
Boston Red Sox

2006 SEASON STATISTICS

I hear he has a helluva curve.

The coyote has an arm, but it’s gonna suck if they get rid of the DH, since HE can’t hit the breaking stuff.
Hey Bristol, I’ll proofread for an extra hundred a week if you’re interested.

Don’t be so quick to find fault. Way this year’s going, he may actually have to pitch a game before it’s all said and done.

Just read Law’s interesting, if graphically errored column. I hope no one is forgetting Daisuke Matsuzaka as a potential free agent. I would finally agree that we should totally outspend the yankees and grab him. Hopefully Theo agrees.
