It was recently brought to my attention that when I initially announced the“Get a Kiss, Win a Book” contest, the comments section of the blog were, um, experiencing technical difficulties.* So! The contest has been extended for one week. Here are the basics:
* Read Sheril Kirshenbaum’s awesome/sexy/fun/interesting The Science of Kissing.
* Write in the comments your favorite thing about the book.
On Friday, January 21, I’ll go through the entries and the local winner will get to choose any book by an author at this weekend’s ScienceOnline 2011 conference — and I’ll buy it for you! And there are some truly awesome choices. There’s The Panic Virus, natch, but also books by Holly Tucker, Carl Zimmer, Vanessa Woods, Chris Mooney, Deborah Blum, Maryn McKenna, Tom Levinson, David Kroll, David Dobbs, Misha Angrist…and a dozen or so more great writers.
Right now, Samantha Brook is sitting comfortably in the lead.+ Let’s some real competition here!
* I had accidentally disabled commenting for a day or so.
+ It is technically true that she is also the only entry; however, her entry is also pretty damn good…so there’s a good chance she’d be winning no matter what.
